The A-18 Skanda is a light/medium modular plate carrier, an original design by Ars Arma. The main feature of this system is full modular flexibility. By changing the cummerbund, front panel, plate bags, and adding more ballistic modules, you can configure the carrier to fit your specific mission requirements.
Other features include a quick-release system, removable front flap, chest plate compatibility, support for additional armor layers, optimized plate placement, ventilated shoulder straps, and a static drag handle.
The vest provides a 25% increased protection coverage compared to traditional plate carriers. With the harness cummerbund, it is fully compatible with the Support system. The system was tested with Granit 2/3, SAPI/ESAPI M/L, Special force NPO Class, Fort Technology Hoplite/Gladiator, steel plates by Kirasa, Atlas, Israeli and Chinese SAPI ceramic plates.
